With the objective of building sustainable energy ecosystem through energy solution RNBA and SELCO FOUNDATION established a strategic partnership to create a holistic ecosystem to provide reliable energy services got underprivileged communities in northeast India, particularly piloted project in Manipur state for a period of 2 years, from September, 2018 to August 2020.

Broad objectives behind are provide sustainable energy home lighting systems, livelihood systems and other systems designed by both partners.

The irregular supply of electricity in the villages entails additional financial burden to the villagers as they have to depend on candles and kerosene lamps for children’s studies, household chores and community meetings. Having identified the hardships faced by villagers, RNBA with SELCO Foundation/Rural Mangaal had come to ease the situation faced by the villagers to some extent.

In selected 6 villages of 2 districts (Kabuikhullen, Guangram and Duiluan from Tamenglong district and Namthan, Okoklong and Taudaijang from Longmai (Noney) district), Manipur, solar home lighting system was installed where the maximum meeting related to livelihood, development and socio-religious occasion taking place, children events even meeting of any agencies visited in the villages.

As a piloted project under solar energy, we support solar deep freezer for Mr. Gaipu Gangmei of Longmai Bazar, Noney where his family was running an ice cream shop as an earning mean of livelihood. Again, solar base rice mill was installed in the residence of Mr. Pantisin Dangmei of Longmai II, Noney (Longmai) district, Manipur.
